Bunions

A surprising number of people have bunions – and most of them won’t have been wearing high heels!

Bunions are nothing new. They are largely hereditary, so the stiletto theory is something of a myth, although wearing heels will likely make them more painful.

If you are able to manage the condition through choice of shoe, that’s great. But if they are causing significant discomfort, then surgery is potentially an option. For this you will need to see your GP who can refer you to a specialist.

If that’s not something you want to consider, then careful choice of footwear can alleviate some of the discomfort. Good quality shoes, with good support can be a great help.
